PALM COAST, Fla. - The Flagler County Sheriff's Office is investigating the attempted robbery of a Domino's pizza delivery driver just after 3 p.m. Sunday in Palm Coast.

The driver told deputies she had just made a delivery and got lost while trying to find her way to Belle Terre Parkway. She said she saw two men on Powder Hill Drive and stopped to ask them for directions.

The woman said one of the men approached her, lifted his shirt, displayed a handgun and demanded her money. The woman said she saw the second man run toward a wooded area, and she put her car in reverse to try an escape.

As she was backing, the first man fired a single shot from the handgun into the vehicle from the passenger side of the car, with the bullet striking the LCD screen on the radio in the center console, deputies said.

The driver was then able to flee the area without turning over any money. She then drove to a parking lot on Palm Coast Parkway and contacted the Sheriff's Office.

The driver was not injured.

Deputies and K-9s searched the area for the men but didn't find them.

The men were described as 18-20 years old. The man with the handgun was described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with light facial hair and wearing a baggy white shirt, blue jeans and a black knit hat.

The second man was described as a light-skinned, possibly Hispanic, wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with any information about the attempted robbers are asked to call the Flagler County Sheriff's Office at 386-313-4911 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS.
