The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of pistol-whipping another man during a dispute last month on the Southside.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to a shooting Oct. 4 near where University Boulevard West meets Powers Avenue. Once there, police learned that the suspect and victim had gotten into an argument that escalated when the suspect left and came back with a gun. During a struggle over the firearm, the suspect fired several rounds and struck the victim with the weapon before running off.
