Ongoing dispute leads to 2 shootings in 2 days at Northside home

Investigators say a woman is hurt after shots were fired on Cherry Point Way around 2AM. JSO says this is the second shooting at that location in just 2 days.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A bullet hole was left on the side of a home in the aftermath of a Sunday morning shooting on Cherry Point Way on the Northside.

A neighbor, who wants to remain anonymous, said she heard the gunshots.

“It was pretty scary. That’s a family in that house, kids,” the neighbor told News4Jax on Sunday.

A suspect in a silver sedan shot about five rounds at a house, according to JSO. Investigators said a woman was shot in the leg. The shooting stemmed from a dispute that had been going on for a few days, according to police.

The neighbor said the neighborhood has not had a situation like this.

“Not until Friday night when it all started,” they said.

Police were at the same location on Cherry Point Way for a different shooting on Friday night.

Investigators said someone shot a woman in the stomach after getting to an argument that had been going on for a few days.

“I hope it can stop. People need to learn, if you have a problem, do the right thing, call police. Don’t result to violence,” the neighbor said.

Neighbors said the disputes are not worth putting people in danger.

The woman from Friday’s shooting was in critical condition, according to JSO.

The woman shot Sunday morning was taken to the hospital, but her condition isn’t clear.

JSO said a suspect was detained in Friday’s shooting, but no arrests have been announced from the shooting on Sunday.
