Hammer-wielding man attacks three men at random in Arlington, police say

A hammer-weilding man injured three people Sunday night at an apartment complex in Arlington.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A hammer-weilding man injured three people Sunday night at an apartment complex in Arlington.

The incident happened off of Mill Creek Road around 9 p.m. The SWAT team was called after six hours of negotiating with the police, officers said.

According to JSO, the man had a hammer in his hand during one of the attacks but didn’t use it. Officers said the three individuals attacked did not suffer any serious injuries.

Officers said the incident appeared to be random and unprovoked.

The suspect is in custody and is facing charges for aggravated assault and two battery charges.

Investigators say a man attacked three people, and at least one with a hammer. This led to a six hour standoff with local law enforcement until SWAT arrived.
