JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman says she’s contacted the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for help tracking down her boyfriend’s stolen truck and their dog, who was still inside the truck when she said it was taken from outside a gas station.

Taylor Shugart said it happened Tuesday afternoon at the Wawa on Philips Highway near the intersection of University Boulevard. She said her boyfriend went inside to grab something. When he saw his brake lights on, he ran back out and saw someone taking off in the truck.

The truck was said to be a Chevy Silverado 2500 that’s champagne in color. Shugart said her boyfriend is a crabber, and he uses the truck to tow a boat.

“All of his stuff was in there, the books, the business money and all the crab boxes,” she said.

The pictured dog is named Bandit.

“He listens to Bandit, or if you whistle, he’ll listen to that as well. He’s a very friendly dog,” she said.

Shugart asked anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500.
