Man collapses in neighbor’s yard after being shot multiple times on Westside

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responds to a call on Shelby Creek Road.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching for two people after a man was shot multiple times on the Westside.

That man is said to be in serious condition.

JSO said a woman called 911 around 7:30 a.m. and said a man in her backyard on Shelby Creek Road North had been shot.

Officers looked at the home surveillance video and determined the man had been shot in his backyard while running from two suspects -- and then collapsed in the neighbor’s yard.

He was rushed to the hospital in serious condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

Surveillance video also showed one of the suspects taking off in a car. The other suspect ran off. The relationship between the men is unknown.

The Violent Crimes Unit is responding and will follow up with the neighbors and victim. No weapon was recovered.
