PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – A 17-year-old male was arrested Monday in California in connection to a shooting that took place at Ponte Vedra Beach during a sale of marijuana on July 17.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office identified Giovanni Nashon White as the shooter during an incident at the Walden Chase Amenity Center.
The shooting happened after an argument broke out when a victim met with multiple people in a black Honda Civic.
The victim was shot multiple times and airlifted to a hospital.
Police said the initial investigation revealed that White may have fled the area and the U.S. Marshals Service joined the investigation.
On Monday, White was taken into custody by the USMS Fugitive Task Force in California and was charged with aggravated battery and attempted robbery with a firearm.
