FDLE to investigate fatal officer-involved shooting

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Melbourne police officers shot and killed a man Monday night after being called to an apartment complex about a suicidal man who possibly had a gun, authorities said.

Police said Ryan Radar, 37, was shot around 10:20 p.m. on Charlesmont Drive at the Beach Club Luxury Condominiums in Melbourne.

According to police, several officers approached Radar's apartment and he entered a breezeway to confront them.

Police said Radar brandished a gun and three officers fired their weapons, striking him.  Radar was pronounced dead on the scene.

No one else was injured.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.
