JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida and other Florida universities made the Princeton Review's list of "best value" colleges.

The 2014 list names 150 colleges, 75 public and 75 private. In addition to the University of North Florida, the University of Florida ranked No. 7 on the list, and Florida State, the University of Central Florida, New College of Florida and the University of South Florida were also ranked.

"We salute these colleges for their outstanding academics and affordability either via their comparatively low sticker prices or generous financial aid awards to students with need," said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior vice president and publisher of "The Best Value Colleges."

UNF was the only northeast Florida institution of higher learning to make the list.

"We take great pride in being nationally recognized by some very elite organizations for delivering an exceptional education at an exceptional value," said UNF President John Delaney.

The Princeton Review study looks at academics, cost of attendance, financial aid availability and data from surveys students fill out.
