HASTINGS, Fla. - The 22-month-old who drown in a backyard pool Thursday morning in Flagler Estates has been identified as Carter Grayson Sherwood.

The Sherwood was found in the pool at a home in the 10000 block of Ebert Avenue.

Deputies said initial reports were that the boy was not seen for 10 minutes before being found in the water. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said neighbors had taken life-saving measures when first-responders arrived. He was transported to Flagler Hospital, but he could not be revived.

The Major Crimes Unit responded to process the scene, but the medical examiner ruled the cause of death accidental.

A GoFundMe account was set up to help Carter's family with funeral expenses.
