ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A St. Johns County grand jury has indicted the boyfriend of a woman who disappeared in October 2010 on a charge of second-degree murder.
Timothy Johnson was indicted Monday in the death of Rebecca Ware. Ware's body still has not been found, sources told Channel 4.
Johnson, 42, had been named a person of interest in Ware's disappearance, but had not previously been charged.
Ware, 34, was last seen Oct. 29, 2010, when she left her workplace, Hydro Aluminum North America, in St. Augustine Shores. Her car was found in a Publix parking lot in St. Augustine.
"She has not shared events with her family that she would normally share -- Christmas holidays, Thanksgiving, birthdays, anniversaries, things that she had never missed in her life, to be quite frank with you -- all of a sudden she's not there for. And that's a huge factor," said Detective Eugene Tolbert, of the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
Johnson (pictured, right) was arrested on unrelated sexual assault charges in Putnam County last September. He had been released from jail on a reduced plea in that case.
No other details were released Tuesday.
