Car hits fire truck on Northside

Driver taken to hospital; no firefighters injured

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A car hit a fire truck on the Northside early Thursday morning.

Firefighters with Jacksonville Fire Rescue extinguished a car fire before 2 a.m. on Dunn Avenue near Intestate 295. Moments later, a car hit the fire truck.

The driver of the car was taken to a hospital. The condition of that person was not released. No firefighters were injured.

All eastbound lanes of Dunn Avenue were blocked at I-295 for hours. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office redirected traffic through the area.

The roadway was reopened around 4:45 a.m.
