JSO: Honda driver ran red light

Headline Goes Here

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A driver was killed Tuesday morning on Roosevelt Boulevard after another driver ran a red light, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police say a woman was driving a Honda south on Roosevelt about 8:30 a.m. and ran a red light at Verona Avenue in the Ortega area. A man driving a Volvo was crossing that intersection heading east.

The driver of the Volvo, identified as 45-year-old Michael Goodbread Jr., was killed. The Honda driver was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in non-life-threatening condition.

JSO said speed was a factor. Police said their investigation is ongoing.

The southbound lanes of Roosevelt were blocked Tuesday morning. Police were directing traffic around the crash site, which was cleaned up and reopened just before 1 p.m.
