SAN MATEO, Fla. - A Putnam County man was arrested Saturday after deputies said he held a woman in her home against her will for about three hours.

When deputies responded to a 911 call, they said they found 41-year-old Ramon Amaury Rodriquez Ramos straddling the victim on a bed with his hands clenched around her throat.

Deputies said when they first arrived at the home, they heard the 38-year-old woman screaming, "Get out of my house," and yelling for help.

When deputies found the two, they said the woman's face was dark and discolored, indicating she was having difficulty breathing.

At the sight of law enforcement, Rodriguez Ramos dismounted the victim and was detained, deputies said.

The victim declined medical treatment. She told deputies Rodriguez Ramos had bonded out of jail the previous Wednesday, also on charges of battering her.

The victim told deputies Rodriguez Ramos forced his way into her home and held her against her will for about three hours. She said she tried to leave several times, but Rodriguez Ramos grabbed her and dragged her back inside the home, according to deputies.

During the altercation, Rodriguez Ramos struck the victim several times and also used a pair of scissors to cut a large portion of her hair, deputies said.

Rodriguez Ramos was arrested on charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment, misdemeanor domestic battery, felony domestic battery by strangulation, obstructing justice and violation of pretrial release.

He is currently being held in the Putnam County jail without bond.
