HAMPTON, Fla. - The former mayor of Hampton was found guilty Tuesday of charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and illegal distribution of a controlled substance.

Barry Moore will be sentenced June 10. He was ordered to remain in the Bradford County Jail without bond due to previous cases where he failed to appear for judicial proceedings.

Moore's trial started at 9 a.m. Tuesday and went to the jury about 9 p.m. The jury deliberated for about an hour and a half before rendering a guilty verdict on both counts.

Moore was arrested in November after Bradford County deputies said he sold prescription medication, namely oxycodone.
