Fire leaves six families homeless

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Red Cross was helping six families affected by an apartment fire on the Westside early Friday morning.

The fire happened at the Lenox Court apartments, located on Lenox Avenue, just east of Lane Avenue South.

The Red Cross arrived on the scene around 1:15 a.m. to help victims and provide them hotel rooms and food.

Firefighters with Jacksonville Fire-Rescue confirmed to Channel 4 the fire was extinguished and crews left the scene by 1:30 a.m.
