Flagler County to honor those killed in line-of-duty

10 a.m. ceremony at Sheriff's Operations Center in Bunnell open to public

BUNNELL, Fla. - The Flagler County will hold it's annual Peace Officer's Memorial Ceremony on Tuesday to honor their own killed in the line-of-duty.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the Sheriff's Operations Center located at 1001 Justice Lane in Bunnell.

This year, the ceremony will be held to remember Flagler County Sheriff Perry Hall who was killed in the line-of-duty on August 21, 1927, Deputy George "Son" Durrance who was killed on August 25, 1927, Deputy Charles "Chuck" Sease who was killed on July 5, 2003 and Sergeant Francesco "Frankie" Celico who died on September 9, 2011.

"It is important that each year we take a few moments to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice and to assure their families that their loved one have not been forgotten," said Sheriff James Manfre.

The ceremony is being held one week prior to "National Police Week" events in Washington D.C. to give deputies from the Sheriff's Office the opportunity to attend national ceremonies.

The ceremony is open to the public and encouraged to attend.
