GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida Gators sophomore linebacker Antonio Morrison was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with simple battery after allegedly punching a bouncer outside a Gainesville nightclub.

Morrison, 19, was in line at Kava Bar and Hookah Lounge just after 2 a.m. when, according to the Gainesville Police Department, he walked up to the bouncer to ask about the cover charge.

The arrest report says that Morrison began to argue with the bouncer about getting a discount, at one point yelling, "Don't you know who I am? I'm a football player. I'm Antonio!"

According to the report, Morrison then hit the bouncer in the left side of his head with a closed fist.

Morrison was charged with first-degree simple battery, a misdemeanor. He was booked into the Alachua County jail just after 6 a.m.

Morrison played in all 13 games last season as a true freshman, starting three of them.
