In 2013, authorities learned sexual activity had taken place between Alston and the child victim.

According to the State Attorney's Office, the investigation showed Alston sexually battered and forced the young girl to have sex with him on multiple occasions since 1999. The State Attorney's Office also said during that period of time, Alston impregnated the victim who was then under the age of 16.

Alston faces a minimum sentence of life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of March 3.
