JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell presented a $44,000 to Wolfson Children's Hospital on Friday, representing proceeds from this year's Celebrity Golf Classic.
This donation goes toward his pledge for the Brunell Family Foundation to donate $250,000 to pediatric neurology services at Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Brunell created the Foundation in 1997 while was playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Two years earlier, Mark and Stacy's oldest son Jacob was hospitalized at Wolfson Children's Hospital after being diagnosed with a respiratory infection when he was six weeks old.
Jacob received quality medical care and is now a healthy active young man. This experience motivated the Brunells to establish a foundation to benefit critically ill children and their families.
The money donated Friday was raised during the golf tournament, held April 22 at Sawgrass Country Club, and the dinner gala the night before.
Since 1997, the Brunell Family Foundation has raised more than $1 million for charity, many of them here in the Jacksonville area, including Wolfson Children's Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville, and Dreams Come True.
Retured from the NFL, Brunell now coaches the Episcopal High School football team and does commentary for ESPN.
