Child molester gets 50 years in prison

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A child molester who pleaded guilty is headed back behind bars for half a century after he pleaded guilty for his role in the ongoing molestation of a 9-year-old girl.

Michael Halveland, 41, was sentenced this week to 50 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of sex offender probation, for molesting the child, according to the State Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said Halveland sexually abused the girl between August 2010 and March 2011. Halveland is one of five individuals prosecuted in the case. Robert Goeing Young, a registered sex offender, was previously sentenced to life in prison for molesting the child. Halveland pleaded guilty last year.

Christopher Perry was convicted and sentenced to six life sentences on five counts of sexual battery, one count of lewd or lascivious molestation, one count of child neglect and one count of conspiracy to commit sexual battery.

Perry's wife, Mary Perry, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on charges of child neglect and conspiracy to commit sexual battery. Patricia Woloszynowski pleaded guilty to a charge of child neglect and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.


Assistant State Attorney Alan Mizrahi prosecuted the cases.
