Family seeks help for young mother paralyzed by stray bullet

Mother of 2 hit by gunfire during drug deal at Jacksonville Beach

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. - Iesha Mann's older sister said her younger sibling approaches every day with a smile and a winning attitude.

Even with her current situation, being left paralyzed buy a bullet fired during a drug deal shootout, Mann continues to keep the faith.

"My sister is the world to me.  We used to walk, we used to go to the mall all the time. Now, we still thank God we can still do that but she can't be as active with her kids as she wants to be.  But she will still be there," Feldreka Mann said.

Mann's family held a fundraiser Saturday at the VooSwar Restaurant and Lounge in Atlantic Beach.

The 25-year-old mother of two was shot in the back while walking her mother's dog the night of Oct. 15 in Jacksonville Beach.

Police said the shot came from a drug deal that went bad nearby.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department arrested three men in connection with the shooting.

Police said they arrested 19-year-old Denard "Scooter" Robinson on a charge of attempted murder.

Vernon Robinson, 35, was arrested last week the same charge.

Daniel Jarrett, 17, was also shot and was later arrested on attempted murder charges. His injuries were non-life-threatening.

Police said Jarrett and Denard Robinson are documented members of known gangs, but not Vernon Robinson.

Investigators said an argument between Jarrett, Denard Robinson and Vernon Robinson prompted the shooting.

Iesha Mann recently moved to Jacksonville Beach to raise her two sons, 2-year-old Tramain and 8-year-old Jeremiah.

Mann was wounded in the back and is paralyzed from the waist down. She's currently undergoing intensive therapy at Brooks Rehab.

The family has established a fund at Bank of America to help raise money for her medical bills and therapy. To donate, contact the bank and specify the Iesha Mann Donation Fund, account No. 229046801374.
