FHP: Pedestrian hit, critically injured on Blanding Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pedestrian was hit by a car and critically injured Tuesday afternoon while crossing Blanding Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported about 4:40 p.m. at Collins Roads.

Troopers said a 1997 Dodge Ram was traveling south on Blanding Boulevard/State Road 21 in the left turn lane when it hit a 34-year-old Coral Cables man attempting to cross the road.

The man was taken to Orange Park Medical Center with critical injuries, troopers said.

The 36-year-old man driving the Dodge was unhurt.

Charges are pending, according to the Highway Patrol.
