Police said Mitchell was found in his vehicle, which had crashed into a parked car on Fredericksburg Avenue in Northwest Jacksonville.

The car was still running, police said, and when Mitchell woke up, he told officers that he'd had three drinks, and was on a painkiller because of a root canal.

He told an officer on a scale of 0 to 10 for impairment, he'd be an 8, and he said he wouldn't drive with his children in the car in his current condition, according to the arrest report.

Mitchell was booked into the Duval County Jail, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department has placed him on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
