Jacksonville police seek gunman in robbery, shooting

Person shot in foot Saturday night shows up at emergency room

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are looking for the person who shot another person in the Newtown area during a robbery Saturday night.

Investigators say someone walked into UF Health in Jacksonville about 11:30 p.m. with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the left foot.

The victim told an off-duty officer that two shots were fired toward the ground during an incident around the intersection of Windle Street and Tyler Street, one of which struck the victim's foot.

Police say the shooting was the result of a robbery and the gunman is still at large.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about the robbery and shooting to call Crime Stopper at 1-866-845-TIPS or 904-630-0500.
