Man suspected of robbing bank turns self in

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man suspected of robbing the VyStar Credit Union on the Westside on Friday turned himself in to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Kris Arne Reinertsen, 39, gave a full confession and was in JSO custody on Saturday.  He was apparently on a crack cocaine binge at the time of the robbery and felt remorse for the crime, according to JSO's Facebook page.

Police said the man went into the bank in the 7700 block of Normandy Boulevard about 9:15 a.m. and pushed a note to a teller saying he had a bomb, then fled with the cash.

Reinertsen was being held in the Duval County jail on Saturday evening and was scheduled to make his first appearance in court Sunday morning.
