Mitt, Ann Romney make stops in Jacksonville Tuesday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The wife of the Republican presidential nominee visited a campaign office in Mandarin Tuesday afternoon and the candidate is scheduled to arrive in the evening in advance of a private fundraiser Wednesday at a downtown hotel.

Ann Romney visited greeted volunteers at the campaign office on San Jose Boulevard and helped prepare USO care packages.  Those who came out to see her were encouraged to bring a canned good.

"Our hearts are full and we are grateful to all of those who are keeping us safe, and protecting our liberties," Romney said. "May we remember the soldiers, the men and the women, the fighting men and women that are protecting us and keeping our liberties safe and keeping us safe."

Mitt Romney was expected to land in Jacksonville just after 8 p.m. at Jacksonville International Airport. The only known event on his schedule while in town is a $2,500-a-plate luncheon at the Hyatt Hotel at noon Wednesday.
