Motorcycle crash kills man on JTB

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 22-year-old man was killed on the I-295 southbound ramp to JTB on Sunday afternoon.

Deonte Denton was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle on the ramp around 4:15 p.m.  As he was traveling around the ramp's curve, his front wheel traveled onto the outside concrete barrier wall, causing him to lose control, according to the Florida Highway Patrol crash report.

Denton was unable to steer the motorcycle away from the concrete barrier wall and continued to try and regain control.

The motorcycle overturned on its side.  Denton was pronounced dead on the scene by Jacksonville Fire-Rescue.

Denton, who lived in Jacksonville, was wearing a helmet, according to FHP.
