Motorcyclist killed on Acosta Bridge

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A motorcyclist died in a crash early Friday morning on the Acosta Bridge.

Michael Johnston, 25, was traveling northbound on the Acosta Bridge toward the Interstate 95 southbound entrance ramp shortly after 1 a.m.

He lost control as he entered the ramp, striking a concrete barrier wall.

Johnston was ejected and went over the barrier wall. He landed on the railroad tracks under the I-95 southbound overpass.

Johnston was wearing a helmet, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
