Injuries reported in 5-vehicle crash on Roosevelt Boulevard

Wreck being investigated as possible DUI, Jacksonville police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Multiple injuries were reported in a five-vehicle crash Monday night in the Venetia area on the city's Westside, authorities said.

The wreck, which was reported just after 8:30 p.m., blocked all lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard at Timuquana Road for several hours.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the injuries were minor, but there were children involved.

It's unclear exactly how many people were injured.

According to police at the scene, the crash is being investigated as a possible DUI.

Police said the driver of a gray sport utility vehicle involved in the crash was taken into custody. Officers said it's possible the SUV rear-ended another vehicle, which led to a chain reaction.

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
