JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – People began lining up before 4 a.m. Friday to purchase tickets to the Paul McCartney concert in Jacksonville, which went on sale at 10 a.m.
McCartney will perform at the Veterans Memorial Arena on Sunday, June 22.
"I missed them when I was 13 and it was $6 and it was too expensive for the family. I'm making up for it," said George Retetagos, who was first to pick up tickets Friday.
"I'm looking forward to it all. I like his Wings stuff but I'm looking forward to The Beatles stuff the most," said Shawn Argus, who got in line around 4 a.m.
Another fan decided to line up at the box office because she said it's cheaper than going online.
"We learned that last year. We save a lot of money standing in line than going online. A lot," said Kathy Johnson.
It's been 50 years since McCartney performed a full concert in Jacksonville with The Beatles.
McCartney's summer tour is called "Out There." The promoter, AEG Live, said the former Beatle will perform several hours of music spanning his lifetime of music.
"I think it's an opportunity of a lifetime," said John Valentino, of AEG Live. "I mean, Paul McCartney can play anywhere he wants, and he's got the whole world to play, and the fact that one of those stops is in Jacksonville is something that makes us very happy."
