The second fatal shooting took place before 3 p.m. off Moncrief Road near the Ribault River. Police said 27-year-old Ronald Jenkins was fatally shot on Ken Knight Drive in an apparent drive-by. He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he died. Police said they were looking for a black SUV involved in the shooting.

About two hours later, two men were shot outside an "at home" barbershop in a home on Matthew Street at Goodrich Road, near Wilson Boulevard on the Westside. Police said 19-year-old Ziykye Lindsey Ray Barnhill died at the scene and the other man is expected to be OK.

With three homicides in one day, detectives had to call in a backup team to help investigate.
