Report names 2 finalists for Jaguars GM

Shad Khan expected to announce a decision on Thursday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A decision on the next Jaguars general manager is expected soon, according to a new report on NFL.com. Channel 4's Sam Kouvaris expects team owner Shad Khan to announce his decision on Thursday.

Late Sunday, the NFL's website named two men as finalists for the Jaguars' top job -- David Caldwell and Steve Keim.

Caldwell (on right in photo below) is currently the director of player personnel for the Atlanta Falcons. He's been in that position for only one season but has been with the NFL for 15 years.

Keim is currently the vice president of player personnel for the Arizona Cardinals. Keim was promoted to that role in May last year, but he's been with the Cardinals for 14 seasons.

It's been only a week since Gene Smith was fired.

Head coach Mike Mularkey's future with the Jaguars is expected to rely heavily on the next general manager. All the team's assistant coaches were freed last week to look for new positions.
