JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Six sexual assaults have been reported in the Jacksonville area in October, records show.
Police are still searching for the attacker in the most recent case, in which a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on 105th Street.

Sexual assaults were reported on the following dates:
- Oct. 16 – Person sexually assaulted at the Brown Eastside Branch Public Library
- Oct. 9 – Sexual assault reported on West 4th Street in the Hogan’s Creek neighborhood
- Oct. 9 – Police say woman pulled into woods on Hart Road, sexually assaulted, then had her life threatened by attacker; police arrest De’Shaen Davis
Gil Smith, a retired Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office deputy and News4Jax crime and safety analyst, said the main thing people need to remember is to always be aware of their surroundings and make sure to never walk alone at night.
Smith also said all attacks should be reported as soon as possible.
“If it's possible to get a description, it's good to do so," Smith said. "The most important thing is to get away from the person. Don't worry about trying to get a tag number unless you can. The most important thing is to get away and to contact police as soon as possible."
