Shooting at Northside apartment complex injures 1

Victim in car at Mission Point Apartments

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Late Saturday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office told News4Jax deputies were investigating a shooting on the city's Northside as aggravated battery.

A spokesperson said the shooting happened about 8:15 p.m.

Officers learned of it after a friend of the victim took him to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim said he was shot while he was inside a vehicle at 12450 Biscayne Blvd. at the Mission Point Apartments. 

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Task Force are investigating.
