Taylor to join JaxPort as CEO

Containerized freight comprises the bulk of business for the Jacksonville Port Authority.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior maritime leader Brian Taylor will join the Jacksonville Port Authority as chief executive officer on Monday, JaxPort Board of Directors Chairman Joe York announced Friday.

Taylor, a longtime Horizon Lines executive, is an accomplished sales and operations manager with a track record of building high-performance teams and leading complex organizations, JaxPort said in a news release. It said he held high-profile positions of increasing responsibility throughout Horizon's business units during his tenure with the company.

Most recently, Taylor was senior vice president of sales and operations for New Breed Logistics in High Point, N.C.

Taylor has served around the world during his 30-year career and holds a masters of business administration in economics and financial management from Concordia University in Montreal.

The JaxPort Board of Directors conducted a national executive search to fill the vacant CEO position.
