Man critically hurt in Northwest Jacksonville stabbing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man in his mid-50s was critically injured in a stabbing in Northwest Jacksonville on Thursday afternoon.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide investigators were called to the 2000 block of Palafox Street just after 5 p.m.

Police said the man was found bleeding and unconscious while sitting in a chair on a porch. The victim was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said the man was inside an apartment with a friend, and a woman went inside. There was an argument, and the man broke the argument up, police said.

The man went outside, and a woman followed him out and stabbed him, police said. They said they were questioning the woman, who's in her 50s.

The relationship between the two was unclear.
