YULEE, Fla. - A man who was arrested Monday morning by Nassau County deputies told them he had robbed four banks and intended on robbing another.

Randall Woodard, 42, led deputies on a five-mile chase when they attempted to pull him over after spotting him in a Dodge van that they believed to be stolen from Folkston, Ga. The vehicle also had a Florida license plate that was stolen from a home in Hilliard earlier Monday morning.

After fleeing deputies for five miles, Woodard voluntarily surrendered at the American Auctions facility in Jacksonville.

Woodard, who was wanted in the attempted bank robbery last week in Hillard, told deputies he did rob the Southeaster Bank in Hillard, along with three other banks, and intended on robbing the Wells Fargo Bank in Callahan before being spotted by the deputies.

Woodard was in possession of three knives and had containers of moonshine in the vehicle at the time of his arrest.

Woodard was charged with the outstanding robbery warrant, fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, as well as several traffic violations.

Officials say other charges will be forthcoming for burglary to auto, theft and grand theft auto.
