Man with gun hit in head by man with shovel

1 arrested in Northside dispute

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man who fired a gun was hit over the head with a shovel by another man in a dispute in which shots were fired on the Northside on Thursday afternoon, according to Jacksonville police.

Police said a neighborhood dispute in the 4500 block of South Key Woodley Drive erupted into a fight in which a shovel, baseball bat and gun were used. They said shots were fired, but no one was hit.

The man with the gun who was it in the head with the shovel was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

One person was arrested.

Police were still investigating.
