Motorcyclist dies in Palm Coast crash

Troopers believe crash happened in early morning hours

PALM COAST, Fla. - A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a Palm Coast road on Thursday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said the rider, whose identity has not been released, was heading north on U.S. 1, just north of Seminole Woods Parkway.

Troopers said the road begins to curve to the left, and while in the curve, the rider continued straight and crashed on the right shoulder of the road after striking a concrete culvert.

The motorcycle came to rest in a ditch behind a barrier, obscured from passing traffic, troopers said.

They believe the crash happened in the early morning hours and wasn't discovered until about 12:45 p.m. by a passing pedestrian.

Troopers said blood alcohol content results are pending.
