Luis Toledo charged with 2nd-degree murder

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A murder charge was filed Monday night by Volusia County Sheriff's Office against Luis Toledo, the man at the center of the disappearance case of his wife, 28-year-old Yessenia Suarez, and her two children.

Officials say Toledo is being charged with second degree murder in the death of Suarez, but no charges have been filed yet related to missing 8-year-old Michael Otto and 9-year-old Thalia Otto.

Suarez and her two children, who went missing last Wednesday from their Deltona home, are presumed dead, but their bodies have not been found.

Over the weekend, deputies reported that Toledo, who was being held on a domestic battery charges, attempted suicide in a sheriff's office bathroom by smashing a wall mirror and attempting to cut himself with the shards of glass.
