ORANGE PARK, Fla. - Deputies in Clay County are looking for a man they said scammed two businesses on Wells Road in Orange Park.

Deputies said the man entered each business and asked to use the phone. He then called in as a bogus wrecker/tow-truck driver requesting that someone cover a bill for "the business next door" until they came in to work.

The man even provided fake generic, blank receipts to the businesses, deputies said.

Two unsuspecting victims fell for the scheme and paid him $85 each, deputies said.

They said one incident occurred late Saturday night and the other on Sunday morning.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.
