JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The man who stole an elderly woman's wallet earlier this month while she was pumping gas is the same man who tried to steal a TV from Walmart on Monday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

On Monday, police asked for the public's help in identifying the wallet thief seen in surveillance video using the stolen credit card.

Police said the thief took an 84-year-old woman's wallet at a Gate gas station at 7211 Merrill Road on June 12, opening the passenger side door of her car while she was pumping gas.

Police arrested 41-year-old Jason Deyo on Monday afternoon on charges of burglary to a conveyance and fraudulent use of credit cards. Police said Deyo tried to push a TV out the front doors of a Walmart store in a cart without paying for it.

A loss prevention worker made contact with Deyo, who dropped the TV, got in a car and left, police said.

Officers found Deyo at an Arlington home and arrested him after a foot chase.

Police said an officer recognized him from the surveillance photo, and police said Deyo admitted to stealing the elderly woman's credit card.

Police said they received many tips from the community regarding the credit card theft.
