JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 28-year-old woman shot her 46-year-old mother at a a food store early Wednesday, according to Jacksonville police.

Police said Valerie Patterson went to T&S Food Mart in the 1700 block of West 45th Street on the Northside just before 4 a.m. and got into an argument with her daughter, Shireeka Wilson.

Police said the argument escalated to a physical confrontation outside the store. They said Wilson went back in the store and got a black .38 caliber revolver pistol from the store's counter, then came back out and pointed the gun at her mother and shot her once in her neck.

Patterson suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Wilson was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.
