JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night on Red Robin Drive on the Westside of Jacksonville.

Police told Channel 4 that two teenage girls were planning to fight when a 17-year-old boy intervened with that fight.

A man at that scene did not agree with the 17-year-old boy who tried to stop the fight and shot him, police said.

The shooter, who police said is a black man in his early 20s, left the scene shortly after shooting the teenage boy in a black sedan.

The boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have one person in custody believed to be involved with the situation, but said they have made no arrests.

Police said they believe four other people were involved with the incident and know what happened. Police are asking any of those people to come forward with information.
