GLYNN COUNTY, Fla. - Glynn County police have arrested a man who they said kidnapped and robbed another man last week.

Police said a 22-year-old man was traveling from Florida to Savannah on Friday afternoon and stopped at Mr. Pete's Pecans on New Jesup Highway in Glynn County.

Police said an armed man in a black SUV made him get into the SUV. Police said the man then drove the victim to two ATMs and a Walmart, where he demanded the victim withdraw money. The victim did so.

The 22-year-old told police the suspect took him back to his car and fled the scene. The suspect received $800 cash and took the victim's cellphone, police said.

The victim was not injured.

Late Monday morning, criminal investigators conducted a traffic stop at Benedict and Old Cypress Mill Road on a black GMC Yukon. The driver, 28-year-old Dante Fredrick, of Brunswick, was arrested.

Fredrick has been charged with a felony theft by deception. The cellphone was recovered, police said.
