Police: Man peeping at Jacksonville tanning salon

25-year-old arrested after surveillance video caught voyeurism, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 25-year-old man is accused of peeping at a JacksonvilleĀ  tanning salon.

Clifton Jameson is a regular at SOL US tanning salon at 3546 St. Johns Bluff Road South on the Southside, according to police, and officers said that on nine visits, surveillance video caught Jameson looking over the walls of tanning booths.

Police were called to the tanning salon Wednesday and a woman told them that Jameson watched her undress while she was inside a tanning booth. She said she saw him in a mirror as he was on top of the wall of the booth next to her.

The woman said she got dressed, told the staff what happened and waited until Jameson's session was over, police said.

The salon's manager identified Jameson to police and said he likes the bed in the center booth of the salon, where he tanned during his most recent visits, police said.

Investigators said they viewed surveillance videos of those visits, which they said showed Jameson looking over the walls of other booths.

Jameson was arrested at his Baymeadows apartment.

Jameson was booked into the Duval County jail on one count of voyeurism. He was being held with bail set at $50,000.

The salon owner said customer safety is her top priority, and she installed the security cameras and proper signage to help deter crimes like this.
