Police: Robber tried to hold up Southside bank

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating the attempted robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank at the corner of Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man entered the bank about 11 a.m., did not show a weapon and left without getting any money.  Detectives said he ran into the woods behind the bank.

Investigators said this robbery was not related to anther recent robbery of this Wells Fargo branch.

Police released an image of the man was captured by a surveillance camera.

Anyone with information about the robber is asked to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.  Callers can remain anonymous and could receive a reward up to $3,000.
