JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - New video from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office offered evidence of how important it is to "respect the red."
One of the city's red-light cameras captured a near-miss on the Westside at 103rd Street and Ricker Road.
Once the light turns red, a car driving turns across 103rd. Then a car driving westbound flies through the intersection, narrowly missing it.
The second driver ran the light nearly two seconds after it turned red.
Currently, there are 38 red-light cameras posted at busy intersections around the city.
Drivers caught on camera can get a notice of violation, which carries a $158 fine.
