JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A young woman is in serious condition after a three-car crash Saturday on the Westside.

It happened just before 10 p.m. at 103rd Street and Blanding Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a black 1998 Toyota Corolla, driven by Junice Howell, 22, of Jacksonville, was going north on Blanding, but failed to stay in the proper lane.

The front of the Corolla hit the left side of a Dodge pickup, driven by Eric Rosario. The impact caused the Dodge to hit a third vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Camry, which was pushed onto the sidewalk.

Troopers said Howell had three passengers in the car, all young women between the ages of 21 and 28. FHP said Chartezia Thomas, 28, suffered serious injuries and was taken to UF Health Jacksonville.

The other passengers suffered minor injuries.

The drivers of the Dodge and the Camry suffered minor injuries.

Troopers said Howell was driving on a suspended license and could face DUI charges.
